Assistances offered to families under social insurance and families on insurance waiting list:

-        Families under social insurance and families waiting for insurance obtained the most abundant share of organization periodical and special annual assistances.

-          The share of the periodical assistances lies between 30-40%.

-          The annual assistances: the organization issued special annual assistances for only the families in the insurance waiting list, during the holly month of Ramadan. The size of the financial support will be decided according to the number of families registered on the waiting list of the ministry of social affairs. Rations aids program

Since 1999 the organization began to implement the rations aids program through the year round in crucial necessities and especially during the holly month of Ramdan at which the organization distributes food packages contain seven essential nutritive items per family, sufficient for the subsistence of a family consisted of four persons for one month. This program has been implemented as follows:

-        1991  (1030) packages.

-        2000  (3661) packages.

-        2001  (6423) packages.

-        2002  (8425) packages.

Scholarship financial aids

Since 2002 the organization assigned a financial support to a number of high school graduates belong to the social insurance and limited income families, as a contribution equal to the third of the universities and colleges fees. Until March 2003 thirty cases have been benefited, beside five cases contributed by beneficent to sum up to thirty-five cases.

Health aids

The organization provides financial assistances to numbers of citizens who are suffering from diseases incurable inside the Sultanate but could be treated abroad or supply them and the social insurance and limited income families with proper medical equipment, by the end of the year 2002 thirty-three cases have already utilized from this program.

Care and sponsorship of orphans

The organization has programs to sponsor some families by monthly supplies. On March 2003 this program has been utilized by (1100) families at an estimated cost of 40 O.R for each family per month.

The organization also has a program for orphans’ sponsorship, until March 2003 (90) cases have benefited from this program. The cost of this program was 30 O.R per month inside the Sultanate and 20 O.R per month for out side the country.

Accommodation aids

In 1998 the organization started to plan for the execution of a number of developmental housing projects to contribute in partially solving the housing requirements in the Sultanate for the sake of the families in need specially social insurance and limited income families. After a collection of studies and site visits performed by a number of members of the administration board, organization officials, and volunteers to a number of remote areas across the country the administration board has decided a program to build a number of rooms to lodge specially the nomads inhabiting in remote areas. Inasmuch as the financial facilities needed for this program were not available at that time the start of this program was decided to take the form of a single room per family to be used during bad weathers, and that was the rapid solution for the most important and difficult problem experienced by the citizens during the year seasons. Accordingly the effort of donation started in 1998 and the execution began in 1999. During the previous years (1999-2002), four stages have been completed where 210 rooms have been built; 210 families in 24 provinces and 6 regions in the Sultanate have utilized almost 20 units of them. (The unit consists of one room plus utilities). This program have met the donors acceptance in the last two years (1999-2002), unfortunately the donation retreated after that. In the year 2002 the administration board decided improve the project and look for a bigger size funding so the system of the one room was altered to complete lodging unit consists of two or three rooms with utilities and patio according to the size of the family and by God will the organization was able to obtain a financial support for the fifth stage of the project (the Omani Company for the Liquefied Natural Gas). Therefore in 2003 a stage of 75 houses has been carried out in all east region provinces (the execution carried out according to the donor wish). The execution of the sixth and the seventh stages in a number of provinces in the Sultanate is under construction, and the number of houses in these two stages estimated by 50 houses (10 houses of the sixth stage funded by joint venture between the organization and the Omani Company for the Liquefied Natural Gas) and 40 houses in the seventh stage. Certainly, the social insurance and the insurance waiting list families have benefited the most of these projects because they have the priority in organization program. The organization is trying hard to continue the improving, developing of its humanitarian activities, and looking for diverse fund from efferent recourses.
